Seek Him Wholeheartedly Psalm 119:2

2 Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart!

David writes, “Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the Law of the Lord. Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with their whole heart.”

David has learned on of the most valuable lessons in life. He has learned the value of allowing God to be God in his life. He has learned that God is the source of life. He has learned the decisions that he makes in his life are important. He has learned that the decisions that he makes today are going to affect the quality of his life tomorrow and the day after that. David has learned that there is only one way to walk and that way is the way that God has set for him to walk. He has learned that walking in that way is where his life has been its fullest, not because of what he has done but because of what God has been able to do in his life.

David writes, “Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with their whole heart.” How can we keep “His testimonies”? A testimony is a recount of what God has done. If faith is believing that God is everything that He says He is, then keeping His testimony is to live for Him because of what He has already done in our lives. If faith is believing that He will do everything that He says He is, then when we keep His testimony by walking in the Law of the Lord, we are saying to God and to the rest of the world, I know that God will continue to do what He has already done in my life!

God wants us to seek Him with our whole heart. This used to be a little difficult for me to understand. After all, God created us to think for ourselves. He created us with these desires to be our own person and to make our own way and do our own thing. We want to live our lives and include God in that life. He wants us to make Him central in every decision that we make. He wants us to walk with Him every moment of every day that we live. Why?

God knows what He has planned for our lives. He knows what He has in store for us tomorrow or later this afternoon for that matter! He knows that when we take that step to walk in His way, He will be able to bless us exceedingly more than we could ask or hope for. He knows that He can fight our battles, meet our needs and give us the desires of His heart! Why on earth would we want to walk in any other way? Why would we not want to serve Him and walk with Him with our whole heart!

Look at His testimony in your life. Look at His testimony in the lives of others around you. Look at His testimony in the scriptures and see just how much He has loved you and how much He has done for you and decide like David has done, to love Him with your whole heart! Let Him have His way in your life so He can give you the life that He has planned for you to have!
