The Fullness of God Ephesians 3:19

14For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ… 17that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Paul prayed for the church at Ephesus. He prays that “Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” Faith the Bible tells us in Romans 10, “17comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Prayer helps us receive that Word and then understand that Word. Prayer also helps us apply what we hear as we make decisions in our daily lives. This is how faith makes its mark in our lives. This is how we can know that we have faith!

Faith is active. Faith gives us direction in our lives. Faith makes its presence known in our lives as we make decisions. The decisions that we make have a lot to do with the lives we live and the directions our lives take. This is why Paul prays that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. He knows the benefits of walking with the Lord on a daily basis.

The whole purpose of understanding and accepting the Word of God and making it part of our daily lives is that we might be filled with all the fullness of God. God has a perfect plan for our lives. He has knows what we need and He knows what He has in store for us. God knows what it takes for us to have a victorious Christian life in spite of our circumstances and situations. You see, there is a big difference in being happy and having joy and peace in our hearts. God wants to give us the latter and that produces this fullness that God has for us.

Prayer allows God to move us from where we are to the place that He wants us to be. Prayer needs to be personal but it also needs to be public! We need to pray for ourselves but we need to learn to pray for others as well. As you and I begin to pray for the spiritual needs of those around us, God will being to show us ways to help meet those spiritual needs! He will include you and me in the things that He wants to do to reach out to give the fullness that He has in store for those around us. This is a blessing that cannot be measured and can be ours if we will just take the time to get on our knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and carry the needs of those around us to Him!
