Every Knee Will Bow Philippians 2:9

9 Because of this, God raised him up to the heights of heaven and gave him a name that is above every other name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Our attitude has so much to do with the life we live. When we look at life in its proper perspective, life takes on a whole new meaning. This is what Paul is trying to teach the Philippian Church. He tells them, "5Your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had. 6Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his rights as God. 7He made himself nothing; he took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form. 8And in human form he obediently humbled himself even further by dying a criminal's death on a cross."

Your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had. 6Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his rights as God. This is a powerful statement and a wonderful example for each of us to follow. God had every right to stand on His claim to be God. He was God. He could have done anything that He wanted to do. The truth is, He did exactly what He wanted to do.

Jesus obediently humbled Himself and went to the cross and died a criminal's death for me. He willingly gave His life for no one could take it from Him. Jesus gave His life to pay the penalty for my sin. Jesus died in my place so that I could live for Him today and with Him forever.

9Because of this, God raised him up to the heights of heaven and gave him a name that is above every other name, 10so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Because of this, my responsibility is to love God with all my heart, soul and being and I am to love my neighbors as I love myself. Because Jesus so loved me and gave His life for me, so am I to love Him in return and love those that He also loves and gave His life for as well. God has given Jesus a name that is above every other name, 10so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

We will either confess Him as Savior and Lord and worship and praise Him in the practice of prayer or we will confess Him and curse Him in the horrors of hell. The choice is ours as to how and when we confess Him but be very sure every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Let prayer be the priority of your day and confess your love and your devotion to Him in every decision you make!
